Deleting your account and data
How to remove your Junkyard Empire account and its data, what goes, and what we have to keep.
What deleting removes
Deleting your Junkyard Empire account removes the account and the player data attached to it:
- Your player identifier and display name.
- Your game progress and inventory.
- Your virtual currency balances.
- Your achievements and leaderboard entries.
- The gameplay activity we hold in order to run and synchronise the game.
What we have to keep, and why
We keep a small amount of information after deletion, only where we are required to or have a legitimate need to:
- Purchase and transaction records. Kept for six years from the end of the financial year they relate to, because UK tax law requires it. After deletion these records are no longer linked to your game progress or to any account.
- Security and fraud-prevention records. Where an account has been involved in a confirmed security or fraud incident, we keep the minimum needed to prevent it recurring.
Nothing else is retained.
Deleting from inside the game
The quickest way is in Junkyard Empire itself, under Settings → Delete Account. The game already knows which account you are signed in to, so there is nothing for you to prove. You do not need to reinstall the game to find this option.
Asking us instead
If you have uninstalled the game, or you would rather we did it, use the form below. We do not ask you to sign in to anything on this page. Give us the player name or ID shown in the game and an email address we can confirm on, and we will verify the request before acting on it.
How long it takes
We complete verified deletion requests within 28 days of receiving and verifying them. This is inside the one calendar month that UK GDPR allows for responding to a request.
Deletion is permanent. Once it is done your progress cannot be recovered, and buying the game again will not restore it.
